Firstup developed both AI Content Creator and AI Search functionality in the platform. These offerings are an integration with OpenAI Enterprise large language models via API. Firstup does not train or host its own foundation model and does not modify OpenAI’s base models. AI Content Creator and AI Search are application-layer capabilities built by Firstup that orchestrate prompt engineering, role-based data access, and response handling within the Firstup platform.

Firstup does not contribute customer data to model training and does not maintain any proprietary training datasets for these models.

Firstup may optimize prompts and response formatting at the application layer to improve relevance and output quality. No customer data is used for model retraining or fine-tuning.

- Suggests topic variations

What terms control the use of Gen AI? If the tool is not developed by the vendor, what third-party terms will control customer’s use?
Use of Firstup’s Generative AI features is governed by:
- Firstup Master Services Agreement
- Firstup AI Product Attachment
- OpenAI Enterprise terms (applicable to Firstup as the contracting party)
Customers must agree to the AI Product Attachment before activating AI features.

What data is accessible by the readspace by the tool? Is the entire readspace contained within the definition of “Customer Data”? How is the information in the readspace being used?
If “readspace” refers to the corpus of content accessible to an authenticated user within their Firstup community:
- AI Search only accesses content available to the user based on role-based access controls.
- All accessible content falls within the contractual definition of “Customer Data” under the Master Services Agreement.
- AI features use this data solely to generate responses within the active user session.
- Customer Data is not stored by OpenAI and is not used for model training.

How does the data flow between/among geographies?
Prompts and relevant content excerpts are transmitted via API to OpenAI Enterprise infrastructure for processing.
Data processing may occur in OpenAI data centers, which may include geographically distributed infrastructure depending on availability and resilience design.
OpenAI Enterprise applies contractual security, confidentiality, and data protection controls, including:
- No training on customer data
- No retention of prompts or outputs for training
- Encryption in transit
Firstup relies on OpenAI Enterprise contractual commitments regarding data handling and protection.

AI Content Creator:
- Community-level administrators can enable or disable the feature.
AI Search:
Community-level administrator controls include:- AI-generated summaries in standard search results (on/off)
- AI Assistant conversational search (on/off)

- Content, posts, topics, and people results (on/off)
- Inclusion of logged-in user profile data (on/off)
Audience controls:
- Available to all users
- Available to specific audiences
- Available to all except specified audiences
AI features are opt-in and can be disabled at any time by community administrators.
