You can invite others to join their community from the experience, as outlined below. This invitation feature means that you can help expand your community - and a personal invitation from a friend or colleague will result in better retention as well.
The Invite a Colleague option provides you with a link to the landing page of your community which you can then share via email, text, or another social media platform. As this link is simply a copy of the landing page URL, you can share the link with anyone, and we are not able to track who registered via an invitation.
The invite link will take your colleague to your community's sign-in page, where they can join, sign in, or download the app. They will need to register for the community (like any new user) before they can fully access the community and will be subject to all registration restrictions that your community has in place as outlined in Authentication Overview
Note: The Invite a Colleague tool does NOT change a user's registration status to Invited and therefore this tool is not tied into the Invitation Drip Workflow or any of the notes about invitations initiated from Creator Studio in How Do Invitations Work?.
How to Invite a Colleague
- Sign in to your community.
- Click on the stack icon (web and mobile).
- Select Invite a colleague to join (web experience) or Invite colleagues (mobile app)
- From the web experience, copy the invite message and paste it into an email, chat, or another community.
- In mobile, choose an application from your mobile device to share through.
- The share message will prepopulate with text. Edit the invitation note or keep it as is - but leave the link as it appears. Then send the invite to your colleague.
