Improve engagement by delivering employees more personalized communications! Personalization variables can be added to any rich text block in the body of your campaigns and are supported across all Firstup channels - email, push, web and mobile experiences, and Microapps.
This article will walk you through how to add personalization variables to your rich text. For an overview of all campaign creation options, please refer to Create a New Campaign.
How to Create Personalization Variables
- Sign in to Studio.
- Click Create.
- You can start with a blank campaign, choose a template to edit, or add a content block that contains rich text to an existing campaign.
- For this example, we'll start with a blank campaign.
- Click Add Layout to choose from a selection of content blocks.
- Select a content block that contains rich text and click Use Block.
- Click inside the rich text block and then select the person icon from the menu that appears.
- From the drop-down variables menu, you can choose from first name or user federated identifier. For this example, we'll select first name.
- Click on the variable to edit the default value. The default value is what will be displayed instead of first name if:
- The recipient/viewer does not have a stored value for the variable
OR - The viewer is not logged in (i.e. public Microapps or shareable articles viewed from a public link)
- The recipient/viewer does not have a stored value for the variable
- Preview your personalization by clicking on the Preview tab.
- Complete your campaign, including all of the Orchestrate settings.
- Click Publish in the bottom right corner to publish the campaign or Content Creators can save the campaign as a draft for review by selecting Save as draft from the Save menu.
