Forced Delivery ensures your campaigns reach the widest possible audience, regardless of users' preferred or default channel.
- Ideal for urgent or high-priority messages where delays or missed communications can have serious consequences.
- Addresses use cases where users are intermittently active on different channels.
- Supports a "blast" strategy for critical use cases, while allowing more targeted strategies for routine communications.
Before You Start
This article helps you with one aspect of Direct Delivery, but we also have articles on other Deliver page settings, including a comprehensive overview. See Deliver Page for the full list of articles.
This article assumes you are logged into Creator Studio and have a role with permissions to create and edit campaigns, as well as enable Forced Delivery. To learn more about campaign publishing permissions, please refer to this article.
How Forced Delivery Works
Enabling Forced Delivery for your campaigns on the Deliver page prevents channel optimization, meaning delivery will be attempted on all selected channels for each user, regardless of whether the content has already been viewed or acknowledged in the member experience.
Engagement Boost
While Forced Delivery prevents channel optimization, enabling Engagement Boost will still allow for delivery optimization and retargeting.
Optimized Delivery: With Optimized Delivery enabled, delivery times will still be optimized, and campaigns will be sent to audiences at the best time based on individual viewing habits—but campaigns will be delivered across all selected channels.
Automatic Retargeting: With Automatic Retargeting enabled, the campaign is re-sent to audiences who haven’t opened or acknowledged it within the selected time frame. Any retargeting attempts will also send to all selected channels.
Engagement Boost OFF: The campaign will only be sent once, at the time of publish, to all selected channels.
FAQ
If someone views the content in the member experience and Forced Delivery is enabled, will they still receive it?
Yes. Even if someone logs in and organically discovers a piece of content before it’s directly delivered to them, the system will still attempt delivery.
What roles will have this permission?
Brand Super Admins, Community Admins, Content Publishers, and any custom roles that have this permission enabled.
What if I don’t want all Creator Studio users to be able to enable Forced Delivery?
The Force Channel Delivery permission is enabled for Brand Super Admins, Community Admins, and Content Publishers. This permission can not be turned off for these system roles.
If you do not want someone with one of these roles to use Forced Delivery, you will need to duplicate the role, disable the Forced Channel Delivery permission, and then assign the user/s the new custom role.
Note: Only Brand Super Admins can create and manage custom roles in Configure > Roles.
