Shortcuts give single-click access to all the direct links, link collections (formerly TLCs), and integrations that are available to your members. Shortcuts always include Productivity Integrations, and can also include collections of links, direct hyperlinks to any webpage desired (including other pages within your community such as topic pages or Resources, or published content). Collections of links and direct hyperlinks can be targeted to appear to specific audiences.
Shortcuts are located at the top of the member experience homepage beneath the header in both the web and mobile app experience. The Shortcuts bar can be expanded or collapsed in the web experience, however, selecting 'View All' in the mobile app will populate the full list in Assistant. The order in which Shortcuts appear on the screen is determined in the configuration.
If you haven't upgraded to the new web UI, changes made to the Shortcuts configuration will still be applied to links in Assistant.
Note: Mobile app version 4.7.0 is required for Shortcuts in the mobile app experience.

-
Header image - Used for the Shortcut in Assistant in both the web and mobile app experience. Header images should have a 2:1 aspect ratio with a preferable image size of 530x265. The maximum width of the Assistant window is 530px. The file should be in .png or .jpg format.
Assistant in web experience
-
Link - You can add one or more links. Adding one link will treat the Shortcut as a direct link and clicking on the Shortcut will take you directly to the linked page. Adding multiple links will treat the Shortcut as a redirect to Assistant. From Assistant, you will be able to select from the available links.
Example of multiple links in Assistant
- Link name - Add a name to describe your link.
- Target audience - You can choose to target the Shortcut to any existing audience in your community. If the Shortcut is not assigned a target audience, all members will see it. It may take up to 15 minutes for new Shortcuts to populate in the UI when an Audience is assigned.
Note: The above can be provided for any Shortcut type (direct link, collection of links, or Productivity Integrations), however, Productivity Integrations are a premium feature. Please contact your Customer Success Manager with any questions about feature availability for your community or to configure.
Manage Shortcuts
Shortcuts can be managed from the Shortcuts page under Configure. If you have more than one Shortcut and want to change the order in which they appear, you can drag and resort the rows by selecting the 6 dots icon to the left of the Shortcut. Clicking on the 3 dots to the right of a Shortcut will give you options to edit, enable/disable, or delete the Shortcut.
Note: Productivity Integration Shortcuts cannot be edited. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance.
Shortcut Strategic Considerations
Think of the top services, websites, and applications that are most commonly used across your workforce and customize them accordingly. Examples of Shortcuts:
- HR System - PTO balances, pay stubs, etc.
- Benefits
- Travel services
- Intranets
- Time tracking
- Link collections like Company Links (for all users) or Support Team Resources (for just Support team members)
- Salesforce or other related CRMs
- Marketing platforms
- Branding websites
- File sharing tools like Google, Dropbox or Box
- Asset management systems
- Other pages within the web experience, such as topic pages or the Discover page
If your community is using Resources to help users find important content, we recommend that you have at least one Shortcut pointing to Resources. Resources are targeted, so if you link all users to Resources when they land on that page they see content relevant to them. If you do remove Resources from the Shortcuts, Resources can still be accessed on the web experience or mobile app by opening the stack icon.
Shortcuts in Action
If a Shortcut has one link, it will bypass Assistant and open directly.
If the Shortcut links to a collection of links, it will open in Assistant.
