This article reviews how to create a specific custom role. We are creating a custom role that has full access to assign permissions to users, and to add or edit users. This role does not have access to any campaign, configuration, or community-level administrative features.
While Brand Super Admins are the only system role that can assign permissions, custom roles can be created to do so as well.
Creating the Role
- Sign in to Creator Studio.
- Navigate to Configure > Administration > Roles.
- Click the + Role button.
- Name the custom role 'Unrestricted User Permissions Role' and give it a description such as "Full access to creating users and assigning roles and permissions only".
- Under Permissions, enable the People parent toggle.
- For our non-restricted permissions assigning example, enable the following sub-toggles:
- Add Users
- Create Audiences
- Enable the Configure parent toggle.
- For our non-restricted permissions assigning example, enable the following sub-toggles:
- Administration
- Attribute management
- Save the role.
Your custom role will now be displayed on the roles page, and can be assigned to one or more users from the People page.
Studio Access
When users with this custom role sign in, they can access the people feature without limitations, but with no access to any other Studio feature. They also have access to limited administration tiles in configuration.
Users with the role have access to:
Users
- Add and import users
- Activate and deactivate users
- Forget users
- Update a user's role and/or permissions
- Invite users to Studio and the member experience
Audiences
- Add audiences
- Access to the audiences that the role allows (from the role permissions)
- Archive and unarchive audiences
- Duplicate and create a snapshot of an audience
