Many social media users watch videos with no audio, and some users may not be able to hear at all. Expand the reach of your videos in the member experience by adding captions.
How to Add Captions to a Video Block
- Sign in to Creator Studio.
-
Create
or edit a campaign to include a video block.
-
To add captions to a video, hover over the video block and
click the Edit icon.
-
On the Content panel, click
Add a video to upload a video file such
as MP4 or MOV. Or, edit an existing video campaign that was
created from a video file. Creator
Studio cannot be used to add captions to videos pulled in via link, such as Youtube, Vimeo, or Kaltura.
-
After the video has finished processing and the optional
preview image and alt text have been selected, select
+ Add Captions.
Note: There is a limit of 50 captions that can be uploaded per video.
-
Click Add Captions File to select a valid
closed caption file in SRT or
VTT format. The file must contain timestamps
for every subtitle. The captions can be in any language that
can be encoded in UTF-8.
Note: For caption files in VTT format, do not remove the WEBVTT header at the top of the .txt file prior to uploading. This will make the file unusable.
-
Click Continue once the captions have been
successfully uploaded.
-
You can remove captions from a video by selecting the Trash icon. Or, to
replace the captions with new captions, click the
Gear icon. Multiple captions can be uploaded
for additional languages by clicking Add Captions
again.
-
You can now preview the video with each caption file.
