Brand Super Admins or custom roles with access to Language Controls can create and manage rules to guide the auto-transcription of videos and translation of captions.
Language Rules
Rules can be set for any available language, and the number of rules that can be added is unlimited. Our tool utilizes Amazon AWS and can support any of the languages their translation service provides. A list of all the supported languages is available here.
Create a Language Rule
- On the Language Controls page, click the + Rule button.
- Select the source language.
- Select a rule type: Do not translate, Remove, or Replace. Rules are set to detect exact matches only, including spacing and capitalization.
Rules detect exact matches on both spacing and capitalization for transcriptions and translations. For example, a rule could be created that says “first up” should always be changed to “Firstup,” but creating a rule to correct “First Up” to “Firstup” would require a separate rule.
-
Do not translate - Will not translate the target term.
-
Remove - Will remove any instance of the target term.
-
Replace - Will replace any instance of the original term with the replacement term.
-
Do not translate - Will not translate the target term.
Manage Language Rules
Rules can be edited, duplicated, or removed by selecting the vertical ellipses to the right of the rule.
Filter Language Rules
Rules can be filtered by creation date, rule type, and/or rule creator.
