To avoid campaigns being unintentionally sent to large audiences across your organization, the global campaign threshold setting allows administrators to set a recipient threshold for all campaigns. If this recipient threshold is exceeded, Creator Studio users will receive a confirmation modal that they must review and confirm before publishing the campaign.
Setting a campaign threshold for your community's campaigns:
- Provides peace of mind knowing that when content is published verification will be required
- Reduces the risk of content being accidentally published to an unintended large number of recipients
- Reduces the liklihood of errors and the need for corrective actions
- Implements an additional layer of quality control by prompting users to verify the accuracy of the number of recipients
Only Brand Super Admins, Community Admins, or custom roles with access to manage campaign settings in Configure can set/edit the campaign threshold.
Note: Setting a campaign threshold only triggers a confirmation modal. It does not affect audiences or campaigns.
Setting a Campaign Threshold
- Sign in to Creator Studio.
- Navigate to Configure > Campaign Settings.
- From the Campaign Settings page, click Edit Settings.
- Enable the Audience Size Confirmation toggle.
- Enter the minimum number of users required to trigger a confirmation modal for your community. Note: There is no Firstup required minimum or maximum.
- Click Save to save the campaign threshold.
Example
In this scenario, the community has set a campaign threshold of 1,500 users. When selecting an audience/s that surpasses this threshold for a campaign, the Creator Studio user will be prompted with a confirmation modal, providing information about the number of users who will receive the campaign upon publication. The user has the option to proceed by clicking Publish Campaign. Alternatively, they can choose to click Cancel and return to the Deliver page to modify the selected audience/s.
If the user chooses to readjust the audience/s to fall below the campaign threshold, they can then publish the campaign without first being prompted by the confirmation modal. This allows for a seamless publishing process once the audience size is within the specified limit.
FAQ
Do Brand Super Admins receive an alert or are they able to view a log entry when a user ignores a warning?
Currently, neither alerts nor log entries are issued when a user publishes content to a large number of recipients.
Does the Activity Feed note who has enabled or edited the setting?
The Activity Feed does not note who has enabled or edited the setting.
Does the warning pop up when you "update", "schedule", and/or "publish" a campaign?
The warning will pop up when you schedule or publish a campaign and the number of recipients exceeds the threshold. The pop-up will appear if the campaign has already been published but has not ended, and an audience is added to the campaign that exceeds the threshold.
Is the threshold only for email or all targeted users regardless of channel?
The threshold applies to the audience size, regardless of channel. The system needs to be able to accurately calculate how many recipients it is intended for. The threshold does not take into account targeted topic followers. It only looks at the audience/s selected for Direct Delivery.
What if an audience increases in size after the warning has been dismissed?
The warning will appear at the time of publishing or scheduling, so if the audience size increases after this step, the warning will not appear.
