Customer Issue
Users report that the notification badge count on the mobile app home screen does not consistently match the actual number of unread messages in the Notification Center. The badge count often remains outdated until the app is manually opened or refreshed.
Environment
Experience | Mobile (iOS and Android)
Affected Versions: 26.3.3 and earlier
Issue Details
The home screen app notification badge is intended to update in the background to reflect the current unread message count. However, a discrepancy has been observed where the badge shows a different number than the actual unread notifications available within the app. While the badge correctly refreshes once the app is opened, it fails to maintain real-time accuracy while the app is closed or in the background.
This behavior has been verified across multiple platforms, including iOS and Android devices.
Resolution
This issue is currently under investigation by the Engineering team. To ensure your badge count is accurate, please open the app to trigger a manual refresh of the notification data.
